1.     My Visual Catpro is not starting at all. How can I use Remote Support now?
Go to  'www.visualcatpro.com'  and click the remote support icon on this site as shown below.

2.     How can I un-register vbscript & register it again?
On dos prompt give the following commands. : - 
( run as administrator in windows vista)
  

C:\>CD windows\system32

C:\Windows\System32>Regsvr32 /u vbscript.dll
C:\Windows\System32>Del vbscript.dll
C:\Windows\System32>D:

D:\>CD VCatpro
D:\VCatpro>Regsvr32 vbscript.dll
 

(vbscript.dll file should first be copied into VCatpro folder from misc.Folder of vcpsetup folder.)

3.     My mouse is not working. I want to change my printer setting from dot matrix to laser. The small printer icon is there in std. Buttons. What is the short cut key to invoke it?
        The key is Ctrl+W.

4.     I maintain accounts of several companies on my computer. Last time when I was working in ABC & Co., computer was switched off suddenly due to power failure. Now when I select this company I get an error disk / network error. What should I do?
In case of sudden shut down due to any reason data file may get corrupted. Sometimes File allocation tables as maintained by operating system becomes corrupt. Steps for trouble shooting:
     
1. Restart the computer & if the operating system performs any disk check, allow it to Perform the check. If it finds any corruption in file allocation table , it will fix it. You should never interrupt the disk check if operating system performs it on its own.

2. You may enter in F5 ( repair mode) before selecting a company. This will offer You several options like : restoring data, compact & repair, temp. File, auto backup etc.

5.     I have reformatted the computer. It now says 'unable to connect to server'.  I do not have any networking. What should i do?
It appears that you have wrongly mentioned server name. You need to click on 'Change' button. Press a space when you are prompted to enter server name. Click ok. Run again. You may then have to register again. Do not click on server name here.

6.     I have to reinstall windows on  my computer due to virus. My Visual Catpro is running but The printer output of invoice is disturbed. What could be the reason. ?
 You need to install printer driver which was being used earlier. Visual Catpro Maintains printer driver history. An option to see printer driver history is available In 'H.Keeping'->'Misc. Tasks.'

7.     I have a server & 1 node. Visual Catpro is running fine on server  but on the client machine it says Invoicing not supported. What could be the reason.  It may be noted that software was earlier loaded on client machine and invoicing module was added later. However Visual Catpro Folder has been deleted and no data resides on client machine. What should I do?
You may run the option 'Uninstall System Reg. File(For Network Node)' from 'H.Keeping'->'Misc. Tasks'. It will update the registration information for the node computer.

8.     When I try to start Visual Catpro, I get a message 'Unexpected error, quitting'. I have run the setup,update,Run time files, reg.bat. What should I do?
Probably you are using Windows Vista. You need to run the s/w in administrative mode. Right click on the icon & run as administrator. You may also change the properties of the icon. Click compatibility after choosing Properties. Check the Checkbox against the prompt : 'Run as Administrator' & Apply.

9.     When I start Visual Catpro I get the error 'Invalid page book mark'. Auto backup also give me same Error. I have a .vbk file but I can not restore the backup because it is not starting at all.
        You may extract the .mdb file by using vbkextract  utility. Hope this .mdb works properly. You may also use vCompact utility to compact & repair.

10.    My Visual Catpro was in D: of server. Due to some problem the folder was copied to E:. After 2-3 days I observed that data entered from client PC was not updated in server. Entries made in server were not visible on client PC. What could be the reason?
It seems that you have created a new shortcut from "E:" on the server but you haven't mapped this drive on the client machines which are still attached with old Visual Catpro folder lying on "D:".You should normally delete the old folder. If you had deleted the folder then client machines would have given an error while starting the program. even if you don't want to delete the old folder, you must rename it.so that there  no confusion as to which folder is being used.

11.    I reinstalled my windows. After this visual catpro gives the following runtime message :" component msinet.ocx or one of its dependencies not correctly registered ". What should I do.?
You need to install vcpruntime files. Sometimes you need to delete the corrupt msinet.ocx and then run vcpruntime.exe.  This file is located in windows\system32 folder.

12.    My Visual Catpro is working fine but in one of the companies when I try to preview form VAT-15. I get the following error message :  " ms jet database engine cannot find the input table Or query ; tmp_vatform  :. Make sure  that  its name Is spelled correctly."
        You may Re-index the file . Then shut down / restart the computer. If the problem Still persist your database file is likely to be corrupt. In that event you need to Restore from vbk / auto backup file.  If it is a client node check that read / write Rights are available to the client. If these rights are not available , you will not be able To add/modify any voucher as well.

13.    We sent our data file for auditing. Some changes were made during the course of audit. After audit we synchronized the data in our computer. It is observed that entries of shortage / excess in inventory are not reflected. Why it is so.?
Synchronize only affect the Data which is entered through Voucher Updation module. Any data entered through any inventory module / invoicing module is not synchronized and the original information of these are kept intact. So you will have to enter the records of shortage / excess again after synchronization.

14.    I installed the new update. it was working fine. Computer was shutoff suddenly due to power failure. Now when I run Visual Catpro, it gives the message 'visualcatpro.exe' is not a window application /executable file. I have updated the s/w again problem is not fixed. What should I do?
It appears that due to sudden shut off the file allocation table is disturbed. You should scan your hard disk. To be on the safer side delete the visualcatpro.exe from the VCatpro folder. Now update again. Hope, the problem will be fixed.

15.    My software was working properly but now when I print invoice it is misbehaving. It prints the Name & Address of customer correctly but before printing the item details it skips the page and then starts printing. What could be the reason?
It appears that you are using pre-printed stationery and the title band in the invoice is very dark like navy blue or black. If that is so try printing on plain paper and if it prints correctly then sensor of your printer should be cleaned or replaced. A dark band / title in the invoice is being sensed  as a paper out condition.

16.    My Software was working fine. I am using a Broad Band Internet connection . Today when I started my Software an indication that 'a new update is available' was flashed. When I clicked the flashed message, a file named  vcpupdate4936 was downloaded & was installed automatically. Now my Software is not running at all. what should I do?
Restart your computer. Locate the vcpupdate4936 file in your vCatpro folder & double click it to install.Remember not to start the Visual Catpro before installing the Visual Catpro .

17.    After sudden shut down I am getting 'Disk or Network error".  I tried to restore but of no avail. what should i do.?
Restart your computer. Always allow computer to scan the disk if it do so. Before restoring auto backup file, remove the relevant lock files of Access if they exist. Hope problem will be fixed.

18.    My C.A. has Visual Catpro. I have copied the  "VC2009'' folder in External drive. But it is not restoring the backup from external drive. What is the reason?
You need a backup in external Drive for restoring. The extension of backup file is generally .bk09 you should take the backup directly in external drive through Visual Catpro.
However you may now create the Firm in Visual Catpro. Take care to spell name and station correctly. Then allow the S/W to create Data File. Then copy your firm name folder from VC2009\DB  and overwrite the folder in your C.A.'s  folder VC2009\db folder.

19.    I often receive data backup through email from my clients and restore on my computer. How ever in case of my client "Sharma & co." I could never restore / create new firm From backup . However when the client brings his backup on CD , back is restored without Any problem. Is the file I received through email is corrupt / virus infected. ?
When you get the file through email file name is changed . An underscore is substituted For the character '&' .  You may change the file name to its correct name & it will work.

20.    I have downloaded the update file(latest version) from www.visualcatpro.com. After installing, it gives me the message "Visual Catpro Componenets not found. Try to install missing components?". When I allow it to install missing components Visual Catpro starts working but latest version is not updated. Why is it so?
This problem may occur if you are installing update file in a directory other than the one where your Visual Catpro is originally installed. E.g. your original directory might be E:\VC2009 and you are installing the update in D:\VC2009. You may check the Icon properties by right clicking on the icon and find out where your original VC2009 directory is placed.

21.     I have a 24-Pin printer. I am unable to Print reports in Dos Mode. It does not print reports through LPT1. Graphics printing is supported but it is very slow. What should I do?
          It seems that Draft font is not supported by your printer. In such cases a limited solution is to install FX-1050 printer driver and set the Paper size to 10 x 10. This works but not a complete solution. Default paper size has to be changed through to Server properties of the printer. In case windows are re-installed these will have to be modified again.
                   
22.     We are getting "Connection Rejected by remote Interface" on server. The message is "UNAVAILABLE  DATABASE ". What should I do?
          It Seems that FB SERVICE is not running properly. You may restart the system & try again. If it does not work re-install FB Service & try. If it still does not work check that database is available and try to open it using flame robin.

23.     Firewall is not allowing FB Service to run. How could I run this service?
          You should create an exception in windows firewall settings. Follow the path: Open Control Panel -> Windows Firewall -> Exceptions -> Add Program -> select fbserver.exe file from FireBird folder.

24.     We are getting "Connection Rejected by Remote Interface". on server the           message is "Unavailable database". What should I do ?
            It seems that  FB Service is not running properly. You may restart the system & try again. After that if it does not work open Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services and check "Firebird Server->Default Instance" service is running or not. Try to restart the service.

          If it does not work reinstall Firebird. If it still does not work check that database is available or not by opening it using Flame Robin.     

25.     I get some run time error just after selecting party so I am unable to seek           "remote support". Is there is any other way to get remote support?
          You have three different ways to get remote support:
                   
          1.       Enter "VRS" in User id and password.
                   
          2.       Run VRSupport.exe from "VC2009\Tools" folder
                   
          3.       You may get remote support by opening                    www.visualcatpro.Com

26.     When I start Visual Catpro it is giving "Automation error - specified module could not be found" on one of the client machines. what should I do?
Ensure that the same version of Visual Catpro is running on server & client. Try to install  same version on the client & server. hope the problem will be fixed.

27.     I update the latest version of Visual Catpro 2009 on the client machine but when I run the Visual catpro it gives some error messages like settings not found. How to resolve this problem?
It seems that you have update new version on client machine. You must install the new version on server machine first. Otherwise database structures are not updated. So install the version on server first.

28.     When I try to see bills receivable, it gives me some ODBC / SQL not supported runtime error. All other options are working properly. This feature was working properly earlier. problem occured when I updated my software from internet. what could be the reason.?
It seems that some additional field is added in the database. it is generally provided that when you open a fin-year, it automatically updates the database structures. In case of receivables, earlier year data is also considered. so you open earlier years once to update the database structures.

29.     When I try to add a vouched  using ctrl+shift+d feature, it give me an error like - item not found in collection. what could be the reason?
It seems that some additional field is added in the database. it is generally provided that when you open a financial year, it automatically updates the database structures. Ctrl+Shift+D updates  earlier year  data you should open earlier year also to update the database structures.

30.     When I convert data from Visual Catpro to Visual Catpro 2009. On converting one firm it gives me a message that firm already exist but when I go to the firm selection then that firm does not appear. What should I do?
Do the following Steps go to to VC2009\DB folder -> Find the firm name folder -> delete that folder and then convert the data again.

31.     I install the software on server and client both license server is running on server machine but on client when I run Visual Catpro 2009 then it gives me error message "Unable to Complete Request". What should I do?
You should add fbserver and LicServer2009 files in exception of Windows firewall from control panel on server machine.

32.     I have Visual Catpro on Pen Drive. I have two laptops. On one laptop Pen Drive is working fine. On the other laptop it shows a message "Component MSCOMCT2.OCX is not correctly registered". When I run the Visual Catpro. What should I do?
You need to un-register this file by giving the following command in system32 folder:

          "regsvr32 -u mscomct2.ocx"

after this you should re-register the file by the following command:

          regsvr32 mscomct2.ocx

You may install the vcpruntime files again. It is very important to un-register mscomct2.ocx first to fix this problem.

33.     We are using Visual Catpro on 3 clients attached to server. One more client machine was added. When we run Visual Catpro on this machine, only two options in main menu are enabled. All other options are disabled. Operating system on new client machine is windows vista. How can I fix this problem?
Open 'Control Panel' -> 'User Accounts' -> 'Turn user account control on or off'. Uncheck the checkbox against the prompt: 'Use user control account (uac) to help protect your computer'

34.     I enter data of several companies. One of the company is not appearing in firms list. but I observe that data of that company is exist in DB folder exist in VC2009 folder. How can I restore the data?
Follow the following steps:
1.       Move the data from DB folder to some other location.
2.       Create the firm name again, exactly with the same name.
3.       Move the original data back to the DB folder.

35.     After updating the version of Visual Catpro 2009, I got the error message that a configuration is not found. what should I do?
It seems that your software is not properly updated. Re-install the update.

36.     I have delete an order in previous year. It is still shown as a pending order in current year. What should I do?
To solve this problem click on 'Others' -> 'Update References' -> 'Update pending orders'. This will revise pending orders from previous year.

37.     I am getting a runtime error: 'component MSFLXGRD is missing' when I run Visual Catpro. What should I do?
Re-install the 'vcpruntime' file from VC2009\Install folder.

38.     Speed of my Software has become very slow. I observed that whenever some data is saved, it takes lot of time. What could be the reason?
It appears that Write cache of your Harddisk is swithched off. You may switch it on from Control Panel->Device Manager->Disk Drives.......... as shown below:-

39.     We are running Visual Catpro on client/server machines. Each partner has his own laptop on which Visual Catpro is installed. Partners Restore the Backup in their computers to view various reports. In addition to that an icon to access Visual Catpro from network is also created. So there are two icons to run Visual Catpro from Server and laptop. We wish that there should be only one icon to access both server and local database. What is the way out.
You need not make two icons on your laptop. There is a facility to prompt you to tell which database you want to access. To implement this facility follow the following steps:

1.       Press 'F5' on Login window. After that following screen shall appear:

2.       Select 'Ask for server / client at startup' option.
3.       Specify Local Database Path against 'Database Path' prompt.
4.       Specify IP address of server against 'Server Name' prompt.
5.       Specify Server Database Path against 'Server Database Path'           prompt.

After restarting Visual Catpro, following screen shall appear:

From above screen you may select the desired database.
